Council Chair Announces Meetings Go “Live”
Online Streaming of County Council, District Council, and Board of Health Sessions

Prince George’s County Council Chair Ingrid Turner (D) – District 4, has announced “live” online streaming of County Council, District Council, and Board of Health sessions beginning Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Session is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Council sessions can be watched and heard “live” online by visiting the Council website, www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/council. Click “Watch Live” to stream.
Council Chair Turner says live streaming of Council sessions is in keeping with the Council’s continued commitment to open and transparent governance.
“We understand that not everyone can attend Council meetings. This forum, which now enables citizens to access Council sessions as they are happening on their desktops, laptops, and smart phones, provides citizens with even greater access to the Council’s legislative processes.”
Council Chair also thanked the Office of Information Technology and Communications for their hard work on this project.
“We acknowledge the work and technical expertise of staff, especially the County’s Office of Information Technology and Communications, to enable live video streaming of Council sessions.”
The recommended format for playing the streaming video is Microsoft Window Media Player version 9 or above.
The County Council meets as a legislative body at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Council Hearing Room on the first floor of the County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The District Council meets at 10:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays. The Council, sitting as the Board of Health meets as required.
